Professional Cooking and Dining Room Service - 10088 - CHEF 1300 - 001
Students must be in proper uniform in all class meetings. Lecture/Lab: This course will be delivered with the support of remote learning format for your lecture component and will meet at your scheduled class time via Zoom. Your instructor will provide a Zoom link for your class. The lab component will have face-to-face sessions. How often you meet face-to-face for lab sessions will be provided by your instructor. Your instructor will provide information about physical distancing and personal protective equipment requirements to ensure a safe learning environment. In order to participate in Lab classes, students DO NOT NEED the Metro Health Card if you have the certificate received from ServSafe National Certification Exam or the National Registry (Tap Series) National Certification Exam. You MUST provide a copy of the certificate to each of your lab instructors. If you do not have the Certificate (either you did not take the National Exam or you did not pass the National Exam) then you must take an ANSI approved food safety training course and provide proof of completion via a printed certificate by the first day of your lab class. ANSI approved on-line courses are offered by a variety of organizations, including: Learn2serve.com, StateFoodSafety.com, efoodcard.com, tapseries.com, and others.

Pre-requisite or co-requisite is CHEF 1205 Lecture/Lab: This course will be delivered with the support of remote learning format for your lecture component and will meet at your scheduled class time via Zoom. Your instructor will provide a Zoom link for your class. The lab component will have face-to-face sessions. How often you meet face-to-face for lab sessions will be provided by your instructor. Tools and Uniforms will be required by the 2nd week of class, students will learn about uniform on the 1st day of school. ***All students will be registered for Math Bridge Program - MATH 0065-005. Participation in Math Bridge is mandatory for all students in CHEF 1301. This is a math competency module that counts for 5% of your grade in this class. Do not sign up for more than one MATH 0065. If you have any questions about Math Bridge please contact penglebert@alamo.edu*** DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK. Alamo Instructional Materials Direct (AIMD) are included for this course. Course materials provided by instructor or online. The IMD Charge will appear on your Tuition and Fees balance.
