Introductory Chemistry I - 38451 - CHEM 1405 - 003
Remote Learning: Synchronous instruction, the same as a standard course only on Zoom at the originally scheduled class times. It offers the benefits of face-to-face instruction while maximizing social distancing efforts. Remote instruction will take place via ZOOM, Canvas, and additional remote-access tools.

Introductory Chemistry I - 28153 - CHEM 1405 - 004
This course is a laboratory and lecture combined Hybrid. The lecture portion will be remote through zoom and he laboratory portion will be fully online. For lecture, the remote class will be taught in the classroom with the OPTION of 6 students in a rotation basis , attending campus face- to -face. You are not required to attend on campus, but of all who designate that they would like to come to campus for the lecture that opportunity will be available by signup. This is a MATH-intensive course and is designed for Non-Science majors (like nursing, Allied Health, and others). Science majors must enroll in CHEM1311-General Chemistry-1 (or CHEM1411). A student cannot get credit for both CHEM1305 and CHEM1311. Successful completion of CHEM1405 (lecture & lab) or CHEM1305 (lecture) and CHEM1105 (laboratory) is a prerequisite for BIOL1322 (Nutrition) and BIOL2420 (Microbiology for Non-science majors). This is a lecture and laboratory combined course for Intro Chem-1. This is a 16 week session course and will require the purchase of a WEBCAM for testing purposes. Most computers already come with a webcam. If not, students are required to have it by the first day of class. The course does not require a purchase of a textbook but a subscription to a smart learning platform such as Knewton is required. The course does not require a purchase of a textbook but a subscription to a smart learning platform such as Knewton is required. The subscription is $22/ semester. This is a fully online course. This course is a laboratory and lecture combined Hybrid. The lecture portion will be remote through zoom and he laboratory portion will be fully online. For lecture, the remote class will be taught in the classroom with the OPTION of 6 students in a rotation basis , attending campus face- to -face/You are not required to attend on campus, but of all who designate that they would like to come to campus for the lecture that opportunity will be available by signup. Introductory Chemistry I - 38450 - CHEM 1405 - 044
Remote Learning: Synchronous instruction, the same as a standard course only on Zoom at the originally scheduled class times. It offers the benefits of face-to-face instruction while maximizing social distancing efforts. Remote instruction will take place via ZOOM, Canvas, and additional remote-access tools.

Participation in class requires a computer, microphone and a webcam. Contact the instructor to address any issues that might prevent you from using your webcam. After enrolling in class, contact IT if you need to borrow equipment.

Tutor Supported Section: This section will require each student to participate in two additional hours per week of mandatory tutoring outside of regularly scheduled class time. Contact your professor for details.

***NOTE*** This is a blended course with an online lecture FLEX 2 course delivered through Canvas and labs that meet face to face through Zoom.*** The lecture portion of this class is a 8 week Flex 2 internet course. Introductory Chemistry I - 10673 - CHEM 1405 - 045

“The instruction for this course will be delivered via Canvas with no scheduled class meetings.” DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. The electronic textbook and the student access code for this class has already been paid for as part of your Instructional Materials Charge. For the online course, the lab manual is not included in tuiton fee; STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A LAB KIT FROM AN EXTERNAL VENDOR ($95 plus postage). Both lecture and lab will be online. The laboratory experiments are performed at home. Enrolled students are expected to view the material, do the reading, and complete the assignments outside of class.

Some seats in this course will be reserved for military and veteran families at the discretion of the college.
