This is a survey course for non-science majors who want to gain a good understanding of nutrition. Topics of current interest include food labeling, diet in relation to health and physical fitness, weight control and health-related nutritional needs. This course is identical to “Consumer Nutrition for Non-Science Majors” from previous semesters at Northwest Vista College. This course is not the second component of a two part unit and there are no nutrition-specific prerequisites.
This is an 8 week Flex I course.
This is a fully online, asynchronous course and there are no scheduled online class meetings. A computer, secure and reliable internet access, and a webcam are needed for this course. This course will require the Respondus Lockdown Browser proctoring service which is not compatible with Chromebooks. Check with your instructor for any other materials that may be required.
